1st day of school, or is it?

Here are my kids on the 1st day of Children's Ark. Well, it was Lucy's first day anyway. Brinton, we found out later that day, had the croupe. He didn't go to school because he wasn't feeling well (as you can see from his face in the pic), but then he just got worse and worse. I took him to the after hours clinic later that night and they gave him a steroid to help him breathe easier. He was actually feeling a lot better the next day. And of course Lucy got it a few days later:(

Back to school...they go on Monday and Thursday for 4 hours and seem to really enjoy it so far. Lucy hardly whimpers when I drop her off. I am so thankful for their Christian teachers and the environment they are in with their friends. Brinton on his first day - with Lu
Mom, can't you tell I'm excited by this real smile on my face:)

Our cousin, Tess

We went to Ft. Worth a few weeks ago to attend a mission seminar for the families of my sister's team going to Rwanda. It was very helpful and the people in charge did a great job of giving us information on how to cope (and a lot of other advice), etc with them leaving the country in December. It was also very emotional as each team member blessed their parents, siblings, etc. and talked to them about what they mean to them... You can imagine the waterworks that went on that weekend. While it is so hard to say goodbye in a couple of months to seeing them physically - they are only beginning to say hello and introduce the love of Christ to so many who desperately need it. I am sure I'll blog more about them later - but I am not up for a big cry right now:)
Here are some pics of my kids and their little cousin, Tess. (Sorry, Fred, your sister hogged all the pics:)

Brinton Shares the News!

Thanks, Britney, for spurring me on to get this on my blog. I actually did mean to do it yesterday after we found out, but, well, I didn't. We are so excited about our new addition and hope Brinton continues to seem so happy when the baby comes! Of course we hope Lucy does well, too!

Looking Good

After seeing Britney and Bekki's blogs with the yearbook pictures (which had me rolling with laughter) I couldn't resist. I laughed when Bekki said she was on for 2 hours, but it is sort of addicting... I showed Devan last night the ones I had done of him, and when he saw them, we both were laughing so loud we had to shut the door so we wouldn't wake the kids! Hope you have some good laughs.

Brinton Talks About God

When I got home last night, Devan was telling me about putting Brinton to bed. They were in his room praying and when they were done, Devan started talking about the things God made and asking Brinton wasn't he glad God did all this. The conversation followed:

B: Yes....Where is God?
D: Where is he? Do you know?
B: In heaven?
D: That's right.
B: What does God do in heaven? Who's with him?
D: Do you know?
B: There's guys up there sining to him?
D: Yes, there is probably lots of singing in heaven. Do you know we can sing to God? Like when you sing Jesus Loves Me, you're singing to God.
B: (pondering a moment) I like singing to God....(sits there a minute)
Okay, daddy, goodnight.....

This was something else I wanted to remember. It was just a sweet story...I just pray he always wants to sing to God...

BIG BOY!

Brinton has been officially potty trained for about two weeks. He had been pooping on the potty for months, but just couldn't seem to get the other down. A few weeks ago, we started taking him just to see what would happen. He didn't seem to interested, but after a couple of days, he said he needed to tee tee on the potty and has been telling us ever since. Hopefully the others will be that easy. He wears underwear during the day, and pull ups at night. His pull up is usually dry in the morning, and sometimes he'll come wake me up to go during the night, or go when he first gets up. We are glad to be buying diapers for one! At least for a few more months. ( I am starting to try and blog things like this just to help me remember, since I usually forget to write them down)
