Brinton Shares the News!

Thanks, Britney, for spurring me on to get this on my blog. I actually did mean to do it yesterday after we found out, but, well, I didn't. We are so excited about our new addition and hope Brinton continues to seem so happy when the baby comes! Of course we hope Lucy does well, too!

Looking Good

After seeing Britney and Bekki's blogs with the yearbook pictures (which had me rolling with laughter) I couldn't resist. I laughed when Bekki said she was on for 2 hours, but it is sort of addicting... I showed Devan last night the ones I had done of him, and when he saw them, we both were laughing so loud we had to shut the door so we wouldn't wake the kids! Hope you have some good laughs.

Brinton Talks About God

When I got home last night, Devan was telling me about putting Brinton to bed. They were in his room praying and when they were done, Devan started talking about the things God made and asking Brinton wasn't he glad God did all this. The conversation followed:

B: Yes....Where is God?
D: Where is he? Do you know?
B: In heaven?
D: That's right.
B: What does God do in heaven? Who's with him?
D: Do you know?
B: There's guys up there sining to him?
D: Yes, there is probably lots of singing in heaven. Do you know we can sing to God? Like when you sing Jesus Loves Me, you're singing to God.
B: (pondering a moment) I like singing to God....(sits there a minute)
Okay, daddy, goodnight.....

This was something else I wanted to remember. It was just a sweet story...I just pray he always wants to sing to God...

BIG BOY!

Brinton has been officially potty trained for about two weeks. He had been pooping on the potty for months, but just couldn't seem to get the other down. A few weeks ago, we started taking him just to see what would happen. He didn't seem to interested, but after a couple of days, he said he needed to tee tee on the potty and has been telling us ever since. Hopefully the others will be that easy. He wears underwear during the day, and pull ups at night. His pull up is usually dry in the morning, and sometimes he'll come wake me up to go during the night, or go when he first gets up. We are glad to be buying diapers for one! At least for a few more months. ( I am starting to try and blog things like this just to help me remember, since I usually forget to write them down)

TESS

Last Tuesday, my sister Jill had her baby! Brinton and I drove to Sulphur Springs that morning. She was induced, since they recently moved to Ft. Worth (where theit sponsoring congregation is) and of course didn't want to go into labor 2 hours away from where she was delivering. She went in that morning, nothing really started happening until the Dr. broke her water around 3:30 or so, and then Tess made her appearance at 7:28 pm. Jill did great - used no pain meds... Their family, as well as all of us, are so happy and thankful for a healthy baby.

A Cry in the Night...

About 12:30 am we heard cries from Lucy's room. She will cry out sometimes in her sleep, but will stop very quickly and go back to sleep. Well last night the crying kept coming and then got louder and louder until it was screams. Finally, I knew something was wrong and was about to go check, but Devan got up right before me. When I followed after him in a minute or two, he was holding Lucy out in front of him in the hallway. He informed me that she had thrown up and is was everywhere. (It wouldn't have taken me long to figure it out, though.) Devan ran some bath water and I gave her a bath (poor girl, one thing about having so much hair is that it was covered in it) She seemed happy and ready to play as I scrubbed and scrubbed the smell off her. Wonderful Devan took on the job of cleaning her crib. He stripped the sheets, cleaned the railings, etc. and Lysoled (sp?) her mattress. After she was all cleaned up, Devan said he would take her in the guest room in case she was sick (which she sure didn't act like). I felt bad since he had had camp all week, but I offered and he said no. Well this morning, I got up at 9:30 (how nice for me) and looked in the guest room, then went downstairs and found : Devan asleep on the couch, cushions stacked high on either side of the chair so Lucy couldn't escape, and Sweet Lu on the floor amidst her toys, asleep. They are still sleeping (it's 10:30) and since Brinton didn't have a nap yesterday (he hung out with the older girls at camp yesterday) he is still asleep, too. It fells so quiet and strange. I think Lucy is fine (sour stomach maybe) but just thought I would share since I had some time.... (this may be one of my longest posts ever)
