Family Retreat

We had a great time at the family retreat! Since Devan had a baseball game Friday, Summer rode with the kids and me and we followed Clint and the boys. What sweet friends. We stopped about halfway at a WalMart and then Brinton and Lucy saw the movie in the Bests' car and that was all it took (Clint let them ride with him!!!!!!!) So that left just me and Summer and Macy! Wow, what a guy:) Many people helped watch my kids that evening while I got out room ready and unloaded. Kat took care of Lucy for a long time...It's so good having help! The rest of the time the kids played in the huge sandbox, the water and had a canoe ride Sunday before we left. The kids were pretty well-behaved and Macy was easy most of the time (a few cries here and there). We had fun with all of our friends - maybe when we're older it'll be easier to carry on a conversation since we won't be chasing all our kids...

Easter

My mom came on Easter weekend and we had tons of fun! We (my mom and I) went shopping. She let the kids hide the eggs in the house and then they'd find them (they did this too many times to count). They loved it and we're still finding eggs... Mimi also brought outfits for the kids to wear Sunday and they were too cute. Thanks!

We went to the Roach's (Melissa's parents) after worship on Sunday. They love all of them so much and they are so good to our kids (and us:) They had lots of fun and especially cracking confetti eggs on people's heads...

(more)Easter at Children's Ark

Lucy and Brinton had their Easter parties at school, so I went up and took some pictures. They really love going to school and being with their friends...

(even more) Easter at the Jackson's

We had a great time at the Jackson's Easter party! The kids loved hunting eggs and playing with their friends. Brinton even got on the jump and bounce thing - he had tried it before at fall festival and would only sit on the edge - but he was actually jumping and sliding...I was shocked. They were sweaty, tired and wiped out at the end of the evening...

Lucy kept putting the eggs in another boy's basket!

Gators and Friends

Look at me - I'm holding an "addigator"

She didn't want Devan to help her - she said "I do it, I do it!" But she never got upset:)
You know you're in Louisiana if...you go to a place called "Gators and Friends." Over Spring Break we were at my parents in Marshall, TX. It's only about 20 miles to the Louisiana border. We found this place where you could feed and walk among the animals and decided to check it out. When you walked through the building and came out into the animal area, the first thing you saw was a pit full of gators. Lucy loved it from the beginning, but it took Brinton a while to want to look at anything. But after a few minutes, he was feeding the animals and touching them. It was a really neat place with lots of exotic animals - zebras, deer, camels, capybaras, llamas, etc. Note: we didn't get to feed the alligators! I posted some pictures below of our fun trip - but the most exicting picture (at least to me) is the one above - my little LouLou holding an alligator (before anyone thinks I'm too crazy, notice the mouth is taped closed :)

Husband of Mine....(Birthday Poem)

My husband means a lot to me,
and I'd like to let him know,
that he is so very special
and I'll never let him go.

I know it's April Fool's Day,
but this really ain't no joke.
I really love my husband,
I may by him a coke.

We have 3 great kids,
who really love their dad.
He wrestles, gives hugs and kisses,
and that makes them so glad.

I love you so, my Devan,
there's something I need to say,
I want to tell you that I hope
you have a wonderful birthday!

I know this is really cheesy, but what can I say! I really do love you Devan and am glad I am sharing my walk with you. May we grow to love each other, our family and most importantly our Lord more everyday! Happy Birthday!
